A cold case in Polk County, Florida has finally been solved after DNA linked a creepy neighbour after 37 years. Nurse Teresa Lee Scalf, 29, was stabbed in her own home
Teresa Scalf, 29, was slashed and killed in a sexually motivated attack nearly four decades ago, the sheriff’s office said.
Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd said DNA evidence helped identify the late Donald Douglas as the murderer of Lakeland resident Teresa Scalf in 1986.
Scalf was just 29 years old and a nurse at Lakeland Regional Health Medical Center when her mother found her dead in her apartment on Oct. 27, 1986.
The exhibition includes an outdoor plant display, audio tour and an indoor exhibit, all describing plants that are significant to the Black experience in the Americas dating back to the transatlantic slave trade.
