Oxygen shortage limits Delhi Covid centre capacity to admit patients: ITBP


The Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP), tasked to run a newly-created COVID care centre in south Delhi, on Tuesday said that the capacity to admit coronavirus patients at the facility is limited due to supply of oxygen.
Only 26 patients were admitted here on Tuesday, taking the total admissions to 149 in the 500 oxygen-bed facility.
A total of 123 patients were admitted on Monday, the first day of its operation.
Some patients, out of the 26, were admitted through referrals on Tuesday, officials said.
The ITBP has admitted 149 patients at the SPCCC in Radha Soami Beas camp at Chhattarpur in south Delhi till evening on Tuesday. ....

ITBP's Covid centre with 500 oxygen-supported beds now operational in Delhi


A COVID care centre with 500 oxygen-supported beds run by the Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) began functioning from Monday with the admission of at least 25 patients, officials said.
The facility, named SardarVallabh Bhai Patel COVID Care Centre (SPCCC), has been opened in view of Delhi registering a sharp rise in coronavirus cases and its healthcare system creaking under the pressure.
It is located at the Radha Soami Beas campus in Chhattarpur area of south Delhi.
The border guarding force, ITBP, designated by the Union home ministry as the nodal agency to run the facility, has said there would be no walk-in admissions to the centre. Admission at this centre will be made after approval by district surveillance officers in Delhi. ....

Army pulls out in some areas of western Assam where normalcy has returned


 
 
Assam has been a hotbed of insurgency over the last few decades. Various parts of the state have been under the strict vigilance of the Indian Army. However, with continued efforts over time, many of the insurgency affected districts are gradually returning to normal, army press office said in a statement.
With incidents of violence at their lowest in nearly three decades, deployed troops of the Red Horns Division are being withdrawn from active insurgency (CI) operations from some districts of western Assam.
The Army has vacated the large Hatsingimari camp in South Salmara.

230 people get VIP security from central government


As many as 230 people are currently being provided security by the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs) such as the CRPF and the CISF under different categories like Z-plus , Z and Y , the government informed Parliament on Tuesday.
In a written reply to a question in the Lok Sabha, Union Minister of State for Home G Kishan Reddy, however, did not disclose the expenditure incurred on providing security to these protectees, saying it cannot be estimated as different state governments and various agencies are involved in making the security arrangements for them.
Security to protectees in central list is provided on the basis of threat assessment by central security agency and is subject to periodic review. Based on such review, the security cover is continued, withdrawn or modified. The number, therefore, varies from time to time. However, presently around 230 protectees are being provided security in the central list, he said. ....
