Residentes de Playas de Tijuana señalaron a la Dirección de Administración Urbana del XXIII Ayuntamiento de contemplar cambios al uso de suelo para permitir la construcción de conjuntos habitacionales, cuando en esa zona ya no hay condiciones para seguir construyendo, sino tan sólo para dar mantenimiento y mejoras, expusieron.
En respuesta a una convocatoria de la agrupación Defendamos Playas, 53 habitantes de la demarcación se congregaron en el parque Olas Altas, para manifestarse en desacuerdo con las modificaciones contempladas en el Plan de Desarrollo Urbano del Centro de Población Tijuana, que de acuerdo con la activista Gabriela Guinea, “no van de acuerdo” con el Programa Parcial de Crecimiento.
