Laredo City Council approved Monday the future reopening of the area which was set to take place over the next few weeks. The most recent reopenings belong to benches and barbeque pits as well as basketball courts which are immediately available. The city still recommends gathering in limited groups for the former. Meanwhile, basketball courts are now open but in a limited capacity.

Eight food establishments took part in the friendly “dessert war”—each sharing an in-house specialty item. Patrons were able to purchase an advance ticket and then traveled around to the different locations to pick up their treat and later vote on what they felt was the best one.
