Some states allow disqualified or unqualified candidates on to their presidential pimaries. states like colorado, we do not allow that. and that s why it s so important for the supreme court to step in. this is a big question. it s nol. it s unpress dependented. usually we do not have presidents trying to steal the presidency. usually we do not have people who engage in insurrection run for president. the possibility of difference, the possibility of a patchwork all dangerous for our democracy, no? it is. it s worth understanding what that patchwork is. colorado has a unique set of procedures. maine has a different process with the secretary of state doing it. california has another process in which there isn t such the ....

What do you see in this appeal and how does this play out next? the secretary of state in maine has assessed the case and has found that the matter needs to be moved over to the courts. so now it will be in the maine courts, superior court level. it could go up to the maine judicial supreme court and of course the u.s. supreme court can weigh in. the difficulty here is you have states across the country who have kind of a patchwork of decisions on this. and so everybody is holding their breath waiting for the u.s. supreme court to chime in on this and set the stage nationally. so we still haven t seen the trump team appeal the colorado ruling. there is an appeal from the colorado republican party to the supreme court. what is with the delay there? well, trump is going to appear on the colorado primary ballot because of the appeal you mentioned. ....

The past. absolutely. it will have to be one ruling. the problem is you don t want a patchwork of different state rulings. you need to have one ruling on it. this has never happened before. no one has ever contested any of these prerequisites to be president. there s never been an issue as to someone was foreign born or whether they were actually 35 years old and this was the first time that we ve ever had a president that was involved in an insurrection and this has never come up before. the supreme court has got his hands full and there s no question about it, and i think that the way to do this as i said before that the chief justice can get involved with looking at the actual underlying evidence particularly what donald trump s vice president had to say to the grand jury, to me, that would be critical. nick akerman and the stakes could not be higher. good to have you. ....

Passing their own rules about not letting buses from texas and other places go to their areas. i want to ask you about the patchwork of state and local laws versus federal for immigration. the original question, do you think if the senate moves forward, that limits asylum- seekers that expedites deportations? that the house will take it up? what is the sense of where your republican colleagues are? i have an idea, but some senators are not from the border. cinema is and they need to make sure that the people that live within the border have an input on this. i do not think so? they have to make sure that it comes with the house. as long as we are talking to each other and we keep the communities in mind we can address this. it all goes back to adding more ....
