CNN The Situation Room With Wolf Blitzer June 4, 2024 06:14:00

When a pathogen goes from animal to human, it takes a while for it to figure out how to become more and more efficient in human to human transmission. i don t think this makes biological sense. but he s basically saying, wolf, is part of the reason he believes it came from a lab is that it was just so contagious. right away, that if it s being studied in a lab for a period of time may have developed that contagiousness. and then spread like wildfire. and as he described, it when it accidentally released. doctor sanjay gupta, thanks so much for your expertise. we appreciate it. let s get more insight right now from mark esper, former secretary of defense under president trump. during the height of the pandemic. and secretary, thank you for joining us. sources tell cnn that the u.s. energy department s assessment that this was a lab leak, is still a minority view in the u.s. intelligence community. but the shift was based on information about what the chinese cdc in wuhan was a resur ....

CNN CNN This Morning June 4, 2024 13:14:00

Three sources tell cnn that was based in part on information about the research that was being conducted at the wuhan lab which was studying a coronavirus variant around the time of the outbreak. but this only deepens the divide among u.s. intelligence agencies over the virus origins with the department of energy and the fbi saying that it likely came from a lab while the national intelligence council and four other unidentified agencies did not update their assessment that the virus was the result of a natural exposure, the cia we should note is still undecided. the former director of the cdc dr. bob redfield believes this is the case that it was because of a lab leak nearly two years ago. i still think the most likely etiology of this pathogen in wuhan was from a laboratory escaped. joining us now is one of his former colleagues the wormer white house coronavirus response coordinator dr. deborah birx the author of the week silent ....

So, he may have had access to information that the general public did not. take a listen. i do not believe this somehow came from a bat to a human. normally when a pathogen goes from to a human, it takes a while to figure out how to become more and more efficient in human to human transmission. i just don t think this makes biological sense. so he s basically saying, look, viruses typically when they start circulating, they start really slow. this thing sort of came out and spread like wild fire very, very quickly. and for him, that was at least some evidence that it had been sort of in the lab for some time and that s why it was able to start becoming so contagious so quickly. sanjay, switching gears, season 3 of your podcast chasing life is out. and you look into how social media and screen time is affecting all of our health. i love you talk to your girls ....

FOXNEWS Special Report With Bret Baier June 4, 2024 23:47:00

Origins of this pathogen. bret: what do you think the fall-out will be, juan? juan: i think we are going to see it in congress. we will have hearings. the question is will the chinese cooperate at all in the answer is no. so i don t think we are ever going to know for sure where this thing came from. and so it will get into a lot of the media name-calling. i think what happened to dr. et zel was just awful. but, you know, it s not unreasonable. and you and i have had these conversations not unreasonable way back when it happened to say the chinese have a history of lining. lying. the chinese it seems to me, have a history of covering up. from the start, even when the intelligence agencies were saying we don t necessarily see it this way, i thought it was rational to say given the poor track record of the chinese, the lack of transparency, in fact, to the point of being opaque, and now that they have closed the door to investigation, it seems to me, yes, you would have to investigat ....

FOXNEWS The Story With Martha MacCallum June 4, 2024 20:08:00

We know it for every pathogen that the best form of immunity you can get is from being infected with the pathogen. the problem with natural immunity is its nondurable. that s the same with the vaccine. the vaccine is nondurable either. so really was inappropriate, misguided to have policies that mandated people to get vaccine even though they may have evidence of natural immunity from infection. we should lay this to rest. natural immunity is as powerful or more powerful than a two-shot vaccination series. again, it s martha: apologies are due to you, they re due to tom cotton, there s a lot of reporters that also should apologize for some of what they said throughout this process. this is very serious. very serious evaluations of whats going on and impacted ....
