New Columbus law encourages healthy drinks on kids menus
A new Columbus ordinance designed to encourage children to drink healthier beverages appears largely symbolic. The ordinance, approved Monday by City Council, requires restaurants to list drinks such as low-fat milk, water or 100% fruit juice as the default option for kids meals. Restaurants that violate the ordinance face the prospect of small fines. It’s unclear how many, if any, restaurants are impacted by the ordinance.
