Fire season ends
The fall fire season has ended and with recent rains to the region, burn bans are being rescinded. During this year's fall fire season, which ran from Oct. 15 to Nov. 30, included 156 wildfires in Virginia that burned nearly 25,000 acres and damaged 13 structures. In Patrick County, the Tuggles Gap wildfire consumed 1,150 acres before it was completely contained.
