University of Kentucky head basketball coach John Calipari is the inspiration behind a new bill filed Thursday.
“I mean, he’s a Hall of Famer and it’s not really a criticism of him,” Rep. Patrick Flannery, R-Ashland, said of UK basketball coach John Calipari’s contract, which is actually a 10-year deal. “I don’t think that’s good public policy.”
In 2019, John Calipari signed what has been called a lifetime contract at UK, allowing him to transition into an ambassador role after coaching.
