Area businesses, groups and individuals recognized for volunteerism

The Splash Awards, created in 2019, are designed to celebrate the impact and involvement of Detroit Lakes community volunteers

The 26th Annual Polar Fest Plunge to benefit the Boys & Girls Club of Detroit Lakes is set for 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 26 on the ice of Little Detroit Lake. The club is seeking 150 'plungers' — a nod to the city's year-long Sesquicentennial festivities, which will come to a close with February's Polar Fest — to sign up for the Plunge, with each required to raise a minimum of $50 in pledges to participate.
