Kahnawà:ke's bay restoration hailed as an example of Indigenous-led conservation
For decades, Kateri Tekakwitha Island was rocky and arid, after sludge was piled on top of it during construction of the St. Lawrence Seaway, which cut off Kahnawà:ke's access to the river — and an entire way of life.
