At this moment the eye of the storm is just off of cape lookout in North Carolina. Theres still the possibility the eye could make landfall, but even if it doesnt, theyre still concerned about life threatening storm surge and flash flooding. Overnight the storm did weaken to a category 1. But more than 340,000 people are without power this morning and that number is rising.
