The Grand Rapids Downtown Market partnered with Vintage in the Zoo to bring the Handmade and Vintage Marketplace outdoor event on Sunday.
"The idea behind the buddy bench is that it's a way to send a silent message that there is a student who is feeling lonely, isolated or might be new to the environment," says Kim Turner, founder of Patrick's Purpose Foundation.
In partnership with the Desert Research Institute, the festival is free for all ages and runs through Saturday.
