Letters: Ubiquitous term 'fake news' doesn't tell us very much
Letters: Ubiquitous term 'fake news' doesn't tell us very much Letters to the Editor I am more than tired of seeing the phrase “fake news” and the word “misinformation.” There is no such thing as fake news unless it means satire. Misinformation as a description is not clear: Is the information wrong, a mistake, not true, a lie or misleading? I think that, at least in the media, especially news and opinion, there are only the truth, mistakes, lies and satire. If a mistake is corrected it becomes the truth. If not, it becomes a lie.
