Tiny home for homeless neighborhood welcomes first model in Wilmington
Based off a model in Springfield, Missouri, Eden Village of Wilmington residents will pay $300 a month, including utilities, and may live in the units permanently as long as they follow the rules of the gated community. Residents will also have access to clinical and social support services. Selection criteria for the homes include a history of chronic homelessness for at least one year, having a chronic medical condition, physical or mental disability and creating a high cost to the public due to the use of public services.
