N.B. reports 16 cases of COVID-19 and one death; encourages people to get first vaccine dose

New Brunswick Public Health is reporting one death and 16 new cases of COVID-19 on Thursday.
A person in their 70s in Zone 3 (the Fredericton region) has died as a result of COVID-19. This raises the total of COVID-19 related deaths in New Brunswick to 44.
My heartfelt condolences go out to the family and friends of the individual who has passed away, Dr. Jennifer Russell, the province s chief medical officer of health, said in a news release. We all have the power to reduce new cases further. Get tested, get vaccinated and continue to follow public health guidance.
Of the new cases confirmed on Thursday, there are three in Zone 1 (Moncton region), five in Zone 3 (Fredericton region), and eight in Zone 6 (Bathurst region). ....

10 New COVID-19 Cases, Ages 18+ Now Eligible For Vaccine

Health officials have expanded COVID-19 vaccine eligibility to include New Brunswickers aged 18 and older.
Residents can now book vaccine appointments through Regional Health Authority clinics and pharmacies on the province’s website.
Dr. Jennifer Russell, New Brunswick’s chief medical officer of health, told reporters Tuesday the province is setting and breaking records every week with vaccine rollout. Still, she said there is more to do, and that is why the province is expanding the rollout.
“We have come so far, but we all need to come together,” said Russell.
10 new cases of COVID-19 were announced in New Brunswick today, nine of which were in the Fredericton health zone. The other was in the Bathurst region. ....
