PBA News: Blackwater boss glad Andre Paras was still available in Round 3

Torralba, who played for La Salle and Emilio Aguinaldo College in the college ranks, and the Makati Super Crunch in the MPBL, can definitely be a contributor for Blackwater on the offensive end as he is known for his shooting prowess throughout his career.
Although he is most known as a showbiz personality, Paras is also looking at extending his basketball career after playing college ball with University of the Philippines and San Beda.
In previous seasons, Paras saw action for AMA Online Education in the PBA D-League, and Imus Bandera in the MPBL, in which he made a name for himself as a rebounder, something that Blackwater will need after losing their bigs in Mac Belo and Maurice Shaw due to separate trades.

DON'T look at Joshua Munzon as a savior for Terrafirma or even a replacement of sorts for the traded CJ Perez.
For the Fil-Am guard, all that matters to him now is that he's ready to show his wares in the pro league after being picked first in the Season 46 PBA Rookie Draft on Sunday.
"I don't feel any pressure heading into it. I just want to come in and be that guy that shows that he can work hard," he told
Spin.ph shortly after the draft proceedings.
"I want to show my teammates that I'm a hardworking guy and give my all. Whatever follows that follows. I have no problem to be the leader, but at the same time, I'm just looking forward to joining the team."

FAMILIA de Paras pencils in its name in the list of clans with two generations of PBA players, with the selection of Andre in Sunday afternoon's draft event. The 25-year-old old celebrity big man was called in the third round by the Blackwater Bossings.
It was coach Nash Racela who announced Andre Paras' name.

PBA News: PBA teams await final draft list before giving workout invites

A FEW PBA teams admitted the uncertainty of the eligibility of Fil-foreigners has also prevented them from inviting to workouts certain draft applicants who they would want to take a closer look at.
With the PBA cancelling the draft combine this year due to the COVID-19 pandemic, teams will only get an opportunity to evaluate the draft applicants through invites to practice and workouts.
Some teams, however, said they will only start inviting applicants once the final list is already out. Fil-foreign players have until March 5 to submit their requirements to the PBA office.
“We are in the same boat as everyone else, waiting for that final list to be revealed on March 5 so that we can kinda have a guess of what other teams ahead of us might possibly do,” said Rain or Shine coach Chris Gavina.

"Jason's biggest assets to a PBA team are his leadership and his experience. He does such a great job of getting his teammates in positions on the court where they can be successful. He's one of the best passers I've seen at the pro level," he said, especially with Brickman dishing out a league-best 9.1 assists this past campaign and leading the league in dimes in three of the last five seasons.
Alapag admitted that he was surprised how good of a scorer the 5-foot-10 guard is, a facet of Brickman's game which is often overshadowed by his court vision and precise passing game.

NATIONAL team pool members William Navarro and Jaydee Tungcab's applications for the upcoming PBA Rookie Draft hike the number of applicants to 80 ahead of the league's Jan. 27 deadline.
The inclusion of the Gilas pool members further deepens the crop of talents in what is expected to be one of the most loaded aspirants pool in recent history.
Navarro, a 6-foot-6 center from Ateneo, and Tungcab, a 6-foot-2 guard from University of the Philippines, were part of the cadets called up for duty in the second window of the 2021 Fiba Asia Cup qualifiers in Manama, Bahrain last November.
Each played a game and contributed heavily in Gilas' two-game sweep of Thailand.
