Somehow, Old News has arrived at part 12 in our effort to paraphrase "Billy of Arkansas," a love story by Bernie Babcock (1868-1962). The Arkansas Democrat serialized this novel in 1922, using more than twice that many installments, so we're being efficient.
True story: I had no clue in February — when I rashly decided it would be fun to paraphrase Bernie Babcock's "Billy of Arkansas" — that, 10 columns later, I'd still be paraphrasin' the exploits of Billy Camelton.
As I promised April 3, this week in our continuing attempt to paraphrase "Billy of Arkansas" we shall see Billy Camelton take her broken heart to New York, and join a picket line.
