PENDLETON — A third principal from the Pendleton School District is resigning this year. At a Tuesday, April 6, Pendleton School Board meeting, members approved the resignation of Washington Elementary School Principal Aimee VanNice. Prior to arriving in Pendleton in 2012, VanNice had been an elementary school teacher and instructional curriculum leader in Bend. She was the principal of McKay Creek Elementary School for several years before taking over Washington in 2015 as it transitioned into becoming a larger school. PENDLETON — McKay Creek Elementary School Principal Lorena Woods will resign at the end of the school year, meaning the Pendleton School District will need to search for two new principals this spring. Superintendent Chris Fritsch said Woods would continue to work for the district through June and was leaving Pendleton to look for other opportunities elsewhere. PENDLETON — Melissa Sandven’s three-year tenure as the principal of Pendleton High School is coming to an end. At a Monday, March 8, meeting, the Pendleton School Board is set to approve Sandven’s resignation, which will go into effect June 30.
