Finnish breweries and soft-drink makers concerned about EU's packaging waste directive
Stipulating that 10 per cent of beverages be sold in reusable containers, the EU directive could necessitate substantial investments in Finland, where a deposit-based return system has yielded a recycling rate of over 85 per cent for cans and bottles, according to the Finnish Federation of the Brewing and Soft Drinks Industry.
