Citizenship Cut-off Date: Citizenship cut-off date likely to be extended beyond Dec 31, 2014

While there is no fixed deadline to notify the rules, official sources indicated that a final decision would be taken by the competent authority. The law passed in 2019 by Parliament is yet to be implemented as the Centre has not yet notified the rules. CAA aims to facilitate granting of citizenship to migrants belonging to Hindu, Sikh, Buddhist, Jain, Parsi or Christian communities from Afghanistan, Bangladesh or Pakistan who had come to India on or before December 31, 2014. ....
