The Iloilo City Government, through its Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council, has officially declared an outbreak of pertussis (whooping cough) during Monday’s emergency meeting, March 25, 2024.
Suffolk County health officials are tracking a rise in whooping cough cases in school-aged children and their parents.
It says most of the cases have been found in Medicine Hat and Lethbridge, and are most common among children between the ages of one and nine.
