The Nutmeg State is ratcheting up its game to convince businesses to take their business to a better place: Connecticut.

Nuritas, a bioscience company based in Ireland, announced on Tuesday it planned to open a new U.S. headquarters in New Haven.  Nuritas uses artificial intelligence to develop drugs using plant-based bioactive peptides, the company said in a statement. It currently has its U.S. base in Cambridge, Mass. Founder and CEO Nora Khaldi will discuss Nuritas’s expansion at the Yale Innovation Summit, scheduled to begin Tuesday afternoon.

Nuritas uses artificial intelligence to develop plant-derived nutritional supplements.

It began in 2018, with the announcement that India-based tech giant Infosys would open a Hartford hub employing 1,000 people by 2023. Four additional prominent tech companies have since followed, announcing Hartford outposts with large staffs to service regional industries and beyond. “You have seen a number of global tech and information technology firms choose Hartford as a hub for their East Coast operations and I think it is a reflection of a number of Hartford’s strengths,” Hartford Mayor Luke Bronin said in a recent interview.
