Regarding Noozhawk’s June 29 article, “Homeless Encampment Residents Moving In to Santa Barbara’s Rose Garden Inn,” it seems that City Councilman Mike Jordan “doth protest too much” over the public having “lots of advice for us, very little of it legal, and a lot more of it doing nothing, except complaining.”
This is not a new problem, as Jordan knows full well. If he and his fellow council members had been doing their jobs and acting in the best interests of ALL of the public, the public would be a lot more likely to give them the benefit of the doubt.

The Santa Barbara City College Board of Trustees on Thursday evening explored proposed plans to resume on-campus operations and a mandatory COVID-19 vaccination requirement for students and employees ahead of the fall semester.

“You have done it,” Haslund said. “You have developed a course of study and the necessary skills and self-discipline to complete this course of study.”
Haslund told the graduates that “what is up next is up to you, so dream big.”
Associated Student Government President Carson Mitchell said this past year has presented unprecedented challenges for many.
“You should be tremendously proud of all you ve been able to achieve and overcome,” Mitchell said. “While today may mark the end of one journey, it most definitely marks the beginning of another, and I can only imagine the great things all of you will go on to do.”

Retired educator Anna Everett took the oath of office to join the Santa Barbara City College Board of Trustees during a virtual swearing-in ceremony Thursday, less than two months after her victory in Santa Barbara County s November election to represent Area No. 4.
