A BUS firm is facing a backlash after it has announced plans to shake-up dozens of routes across Colchester.

A PETITION has been set up calling for councils and politicians to work together to fix flooding issues which have plagued a busy road for decades. Haven Road, in Hythe in Colchester, floods almost every time there is a high tide in the neighbouring River Colne. On Friday there were miles of queues across the east of the town, stretching down Clingoe Hill as far as Wivenhoe, after a car broke down in the water. CAMPAIGNERS and councillors have hit out at plans for 1,000 new homes at a beauty spot. The Defence Infrastructure Organisation’s plans for the new estate at Middlewick Ranges were discussed during an examination of Colchester Council’s Local Plan. Inspector Jameson Bridgwater was addressed on the issues relating to the controversial development by campaigners and councillors opposed to the plans.
