Istvan Dioszegi in 2014. Istvan Dioszegi, a physicist in Brookhaven National Laboratory’s Nonproliferation & National Security (NNS) Department, died on Sept. 29, 2018. He was 64. Dioszegi was active in experimental nuclear physics for more than three decades. “One of the things I was most impressed by was the fact that he had to check everything,” said retired NNS physicist Peter Vanier. “He didn’t take anything at face value.
