KUALA LUMPUR, April 23 — The 356th Drug Control Authority (DCA) meeting today agreed to approve the conditional registration for the CoronaVac Suspension for Injection Covid-19 Vaccine (Vero Cell), Inactivated for use during disasters.
Health director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said this was the first time that the product, produced by Pharmaniaga LifeScience Sdn Bhd (PLS) through “fill-and-finish”  manufacturing, was being implemented in the country.

KUALA LUMPUR, March 2 — Malaysia’s Drug Control Authority has today agreed to grant several Covid-19 vaccines conditional registration for use during disaster, Health director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said. 
In a statement, Dr Noor Hisham, said the Covid-19 vaccines are as follows:

COVID-19 | Malaysia is expected to receive its initial supply of one million doses of Sinovac vaccine from China in March, one month ahead of the Covid-19 vaccine agreement inked with the Beijing-based biopharmaceutical company, according to Pharmaniaga Bhd.
"We will start distributing the vaccine soon, hopefully in March. But our agreement states the distribution will commence in April. We will distribute one million doses in the first month, and subsequently, two million doses per month in the following months," Pharmaniaga group managing director Zulkarnain Md Eusope said in an online press conference today.

Firms to supply 18.4 million doses of vaccines


PETALING JAYA: Malaysia has secured deals to acquire 18.4 million doses of Covid-19 vaccines through Pharmaniaga Bhd

In separate announcements, Pharmaniaga said it would be supplying 12 million doses of Covid-19 vaccines developed by China’s Sinovac Life Sciences Co Ltd, while Duopharma said it would supply 6.4 million doses of Sputnik V developed by Russia’s Gamaleya Research Institute to the government.
Both companies yesterday said they had entered into a term sheet agreements to supply the Covid-19 vaccines to the Health Ministry.
Pharmaniaga said it would begin manufacturing Sinovac Covid-19 vaccines in February and will deliver the bottled vaccines to identified hospitals and other healthcare facilities nationwide by April 2021.

Group managing director Datuk Zulkarnain Md Eusope said that the government-linked company has set up a team of 400 personnel skilled in logistics and distribution in five godowns located in Selangor, Penang, Sabah and Sarawak.
He said besides ensuring that the delivery is done using Just-in-Time (JIT) format to hospitals (according to capacity and vaccination schedules to be determined by the government), the company also needs to focus on the safety aspects during the process of vaccine distribution.
