Tulsa Police Department Deputy Chief Dennis Larsen, 68, is responsible for the Investigative Bureau. He was one of eight applicants who applied to succeed Chief Wendell Franklin.
The remaining candidates will be interviewed by a citizens panel on Thursday. Mayor G.T. Bynum has set no deadline for making his selection.
Councilors on Wednesday night unanimously approved an ordinance that allows the city to issue up to a $100 fine to people lying in the way of pedestrian traffic. The ordinance also applies to people who leave large items in a walkway without a permit.
Councilors were expected to revisit Stephen Buford’s appeals of notices from the city citing as public nuisances eight of his properties near Reconciliation Way and Maybelle Avenue.
