Martin Greenwald, a researcher and Plasma Science and Fusion Center deputy director, embodies a brief history of fusion at MIT. From Berkeley to MIT, his contributions to the field have included discovery of what is now known as the Greenwald Density Limit; work on all of MIT's Alcator series of tokamaks, and involvement with the MIT-designed tokamak SPARC.
