Endangered?: Feds rule on 2 rare WV salamander species | News
The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service ruled recently on two rare salamander species that can be found in West Virginia. The federal agency now has one year to determine whether to designate the yellow-spotted woodland salamander under the Endangered Species Act. The service ruled for a second time that Endangered Species Act protection was not warranted for the eastern hellbender, North America's largest salamander.
