Polk County Board of County Commissioners unanimously approved Mosaic Fertilizer LLC's requested renewal of a two-year operational permit for its South Fort Meade mine on Tuesday, which covers approximately 17,500 acres straddling the Polk-Hardee county line. The company is required to seek renewal every year or every two years under Florida state law.
