It took Loris city planners about nine months to draft and fine-tune the Loris Comprehensive Plan 2040. They’ll have to wait a little longer for the state-mandated document to be officially adopted, as the city council does some editing of its own.
Loris residents made their land-use preferences known in a public opinion survey for the 2040 Loris Comprehensive Plan, which will help guide future growth in the city. About 180 residents answered the online survey, more than expected. “Our target was 100,” said Chelsea Cogliano, a planner with WRCOG. Results were revealed at a public input session held Nov. 30 to help inform the plan.
