Inflation will be the story of 2022. Inflation will be the catalyst that creates the next story – the Fed’s attempt to gradually increase interest rates to curb the runaway inflation. Both of these will lead to my main prediction of 2002 – increases in rents for both residential and commercial product.
America’s growing affordability housing gap is forcing many people to reassess the traditional single-family home and look at mobile home communities as an alternative.
There is a shortage of more than 7.2 million affordable rental homes for extremely low-income renter households, defined as those with incomes at or below the poverty level or 30% of their area median income. To make matters worse, the lack of affordable for-sale homes drives up rents and increases prices of multifamily investment properties.
