“The historic structures on Selma University’s campus are dear to us,” president Stanford Angion said. “These structures must be preserved."
The funding is part of a $9.7 million investment by National Parks Service to preserve historic structures at HCBU's.
U.S. Rep. Terri Sewell announced that the National Park Service (NPS) will award $750,000 to Selma University to preserve the historic Pollard Hall.
Most students only get the chance to live in Ponce Hall for one or two years during their time at Flagler, but Trustee and donor Rick Groux was lucky enough to spend the entirety of his college experience living there.
The donation provides matching funds for scholarships, building improvements and enhanced programs for students.
