Last week, the Stated Clerk Nomination Committee (SCNC) released an updated job description that was last posted in 2015. “POSITION DESCRIPTION: STATED CLERK, GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH (U.S.A.).”
The week before the Rev. Ruth Faith Santana-Grace received a 2023 Distinguished Alumnus Award from Princeton Theological Seminary (PTS), the Co-Moderator of the 225th General Assembly (2022) spoke to the news service about her first year leading the assembly alongside the Rev. Shavon Starling-Louis.
Addressing the Class of 2023 at Davis & Elkins College during Friday’s baccalaureate service, the Rev. Dr. J. Herbert Nelson, II assured graduates that “it doesn’t matter if you came here cum laude or thank you Lordy. If you wear that tassel today, say thank you for the amazing way family and friends have nurtured you.”
A busy week lies ahead for the Committee on the Office of the General Assembly as it begins its spring meeting at the Presbyterian Center in Louisville. In addition to COGA, the boards of the Presbyterian Historical Society and Presbyterian Mission Agency are also meeting in person at the Center this week. This will be the first time since early 2020 that the agencies’ committees and boards have met together in person.
