A “TRIP of a lifetime” was on the cards for an Aberlady teenager after coming through a “rigorous” testing process, told the East Lothian Courier on February 2, 1996. A zoology student from Aberlady will soon see life from the other side of the desk when he travels to South Africa in August to spend a year giving science lessons to youngsters there. Jon Boulton, 18, of ‘Merlin’, Main Street, was chosen for the trip of a lifetime by the charity Project Trust, after completing a rigorous test for would-be candidates held on the Isle of Coll in Argyll last year.
