Frontiers | Lentinan Supplementation Protects the Gut–Liver Axis and Prevents Steatohepatitis: The Role of Gut Microbiota Involved

The microbiota-gut-liver axis has emerged as an important player in developing non-alcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH), a type of non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD). Higher mushroom intake is negatively associated with the prevalence of NAFLD. This study examined whether lentinan, an active ingredient in mushroom, could improve NAFLD and gut microbiota dysbiosis in NAFLD mice induced by a high-fat (HF) diet. Dietary lentinan supplementation for 15 weeks significantly improved gut microbiota dysbiosis in HF mice, evidenced by increased the abundance of phylum Actinobacteria, and decreased p...

Nanofibrous filters for PM2.5 filtration - Vimarsana News

Nanofibrous filters for PM2.5 filtration

Narrating the basic knowledge of nanofibrous filters. The mechanical-dependent and electrostatic-dependent nanofibrous filters were summarized according to their mechanical adsorption and electrostatic adsorption to the nanoparticles, respectively, which will help to understand and design better performance nanofibrous filters.

A novel nitrogen-doped dual-emission carbon dots as an effective fluorescent probe for ratiometric detection dopamine - Vimarsana News

A novel nitrogen-doped dual-emission carbon dots as an effective fluorescent probe for ratiometric detection dopamine

Developing a novel and convenient method to prepare dual emission nitrogen-doped carbon dots, which can be used as a ratiometric fluorescent probe for detecting dopamine based on the variation of the ratio (I595nm/I435nm).

Illuminating invisible bloody fingerprints with a fluorescent polymer - Vimarsana News

Illuminating invisible bloody fingerprints with a fluorescent polymer

E-Mail IMAGE: Fingerprint patterns made in blood are clearly visible on aluminum foil (left) and painted wood (right) when developed with a fluorescent polymer. view more  Credit: Adapted from 2021, DOI: 10.1021/acsami.1c00710 Careful criminals usually clean a scene, wiping away visible blood and fingerprints. However, prints made with trace amounts of blood, invisible to the naked eye, could remain. Dyes can detect these hidden prints, but the dyes don't work well on certain surfaces. Now, researchers reporting in ACS Applied Materials & Interfaces have developed a fluorescent p...
