The world s a very different place to what it was 12 months ago, so much so that we seem to spend half our lives spraying anti-bacterial substances over our hands, our workspaces and even our shopping trolleys.
The eagle-eyed amongst you may have noticed goal frames receiving the same treatment prior to kick off and at half-time, with the footballing authorities desperate to curtail the spread of coronavirus during the game.

A lotus, not a Chinese dragon: Indian PM Modi s home state changes name of fruit
The government in Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s home state of Gujarat has decided to change the name of dragon fruit as it feels the original name is associated with China, drawing derision from the country s opposition on Wednesday. India and China are currently locked in a military standoff along their contested Himalayan border, with New Delhi responding to the deaths of 20 of its troops in June by banning Chinese-made apps and curbing imports.

FAZ suspends Forest Rangers' Chileshe for 'urinating against goalpost'

“Chileshe’s action of sprinkling an unknown substance in goal and urinating or simulation of urinating against one of the goalposts acted in a manner that is not consistent with the values and integrity of football as espoused by Fifa, Caf and FAZ.”
The Rangers coach will now be forced to sit out until his case is been investigated by the disciplinary committee. The secretary-general affirmed the federation will in no way tolerate such unsporting acts and gave no indication when the investigation over the matter is expected to be ruled upon.
“His actions have without doubt brought the name of the game into disrepute and therefore we have no option but to suspend Chileshe’s registration for the 2020/2021 season and his case shall be decided by the appropriate FAZ judicial body, the statement added.

Zambia : Zesco United Wary of Limping Nkana

Zesco United coach Mumamba Numba says they will not underrate their limping rivals Nkana in this Sundays Copperbelt derby clash away at Nkana Stadium in Kitwe.
Unlike Nkana who have not enjoyed a Christmas break, Zesco return to action after a month away since drawing 0-0 away to Green Eagles on December 18.
Defending league champions Nkana come into the game after an important 2-1 home win over Red Arrows to ease their all-round woes this season.
“Playing Nkana, we expect a tough game especially that they are coming from a victory after beating Red Arrows while we have been preparing for the game since our last game against Green Eagles,” Numba said.

Zambia : Mayuka and Chamanga Shine in Lusaka Derby

2012 AFCON icons Emmanuel Mayuka and James Chamanga scored for their respective sides on Saturday when Red Arrows and Napsa Stars drew 2-2 at Nkoloma Stadium in Lusaka.
Mayuka scored a brace for visitors Napsa while Chamanga scored Arrows’ opening goal in an entertaining Lusaka derby.
Mayuka got the show on the road when he hooked on to Jacob Ngulube’s cross with his right foot and on the turn fired in a sublime shot.
But Chamanga refused to be upstaged and he tapped in with ease a neat pass from Allasane Diarra in the 25th minute.
Diarra again was provider in the 42nd minute this time for Joseph Phiri who also tapped in the ball in similar fashion.
