Then use the algorithm to read out like you said the gist of what they are hearing or imagining or seeing. so the first thing that we thought when we kind of got this working oh my god, this is amazing that this works. the second thing we thought is this is scary, terrifying that this works. so we have taken the privacy concerns like really seriously here. so we built in kind of privacy experiments as well. we wanted to probe what are the limits, you know, how far can this go? how scared should we be of this kind of technology? we tested one thing that was really important, was we had the people in the scanner for many, many hours. 16 hours. 16 times going back in the scanner over the course of months for each of the people in the study. and we tested can we use this on somebody that we don t have all that data for. that we haven t trained the model on. the answer is no. that doesn t work. that doesn t work at all. at least currently. ....
