Industrial park sales hit record high of over NT$450 billion in 2021

Taipei, Feb. 14 (CNA) Annual sales generated by a group of industrial parks in central and southern Taiwan supervised by the Ministry of Economic Affairs (MOEA) hit a new high of more than NT$450 billion (US$16.19 billion) in 2021 on the back of strong global demand for tech gadgets, the ministry said Monday.

Wistron to spend NT$10bn on facilities in Kaohsiung

Contract electronics manufacturer Wistron Corp (緯創) plans to invest NT$10 billion (US$356.95 million) in manufacturing facilities at Kaohsiung’s Cianjhen Technology Industrial Park (前鎮科技園區), the Ministry of Economic Affairs (MOEA) said yesterday. The investment would mainly go toward making automotive and related components, the ministry said in a statement. Apple Inc’s local manufacturing partner Hon Hai Precision Industry Co (鴻海精密) yesterday began weekly testing of staff coming to its headquarters in New Taipei City’s Tucheng District (土城), the first company in the city to screen employees for COVID-19.
