Contract electronics manufacturer Wistron Corp (緯創) plans to invest NT$10 billion (US$356.95 million) in manufacturing facilities at Kaohsiung’s Cianjhen Technology Industrial Park (前鎮科技園區), the Ministry of Economic Affairs (MOEA) said yesterday. Apple Inc’s local manufacturing partner Hon Hai Precision Industry Co (鴻海精密) yesterday began weekly testing of staff coming to its headquarters in New Taipei City’s Tucheng District (土城), the first company in the city to screen employees for COVID-19.
