THAT’S SOMETHING THAT GREENVILLE TECHNICAL COLLEGE RECENTLY DISCOVERED THAT A CERTAIN GROUP OF ITS STUDENTS WAS DEALING WITH AND IT’S ONE EYE-OPENING ISSUE THAT MANY AFRICAN-AMERICAN MEN IN OUR COMMUNITY WRESTLE WITH EVERY DAY IN AN EFFORT TO SUPPORT STUDENTS TECH PRESIDENT DR. KEITH MILLER FORMED THE COMMISSION ON PERSISTENCE AND RETENTION TWO YEARS AGO, DR. ALICIA WATTS SERVED ON THAT COMMISSION. It s not just the leaves that change color in October, things are also turning pink. It is breast Cancer Awareness Month. The University of South Carolina study shows that the five year survival rate for African American women diagnosed with breast cancer is about 78%.
