Accordingly, from May 9, the movie has been postponed to an unknown date. While it is believed that the official announcement will soon be out, speculations are rife that Kalki 2898 AD might hit the screens in June, after the general elections. Prabhas wants a July release reportedly, while buyers insist on May 30.

The filmmakers of this highly prestigious project are said to be releasing a prelude teaser of Prabhas, Amitabh Bachchan, Deepika Padukone, and Kamal Haasan-starrer Kalki 2898 AD at 4 PM, reportedly.

Due to unforeseen delays in the post-production works of Kalki 2898 AD, the director and the producer want to take some more time and bring out a quality product, justifying the hype. The new release date will be in the month of June, reportedly, after the general elections are done away with.

Writer Sai Madhav Burra, a popular Tollywood personality is one of the first technicians to speak about Project K aka Kalki 2898 AD now. In a recent interview, he was quoted saying, A film like Kalki 2898 AD is never made in not only Tollywood but in the country so far.
