FOXNEWS America Reports June 4, 2024 18:26:00

Were maneuvering or had propulsion capabilities, saw no signs of that, and made sure to determine whether or not they were manned, they were not. we did, however, assess that their altitudes were considerably lower than the chinese high altitude balloon and did pose a threat to commercial air traffic and no reason to suspect they were conducting surveillance of any kind, we could not rule that out. that is why the president, at the recommendation of the secretary of defense, norad commander gave order to shoot them down. missions were completed successfully and safely. efforts are actively underway right now at all sites to find what is left of those objects so we can better understand and communicate with the american people what they are. i think it s important to remind the objects in alaska and canada are in pretty remote terrain. ice and wilderness. ....

MSNBC Chris Jansing Reports June 4, 2024 18:33:00

Ability is to positively identify stuff from fighter aircraft that are going several hundred miles an hour past essentially in terms of relative motion, a stationary object. that was not very big. so we don t know what this exactly looked like. again, we re still not sure exactly what the purpose of it was or who owned it. we hope to be able to find out more once we can recover the debris, from that one and the other two as well. just a few minutes ago, prime minister trudeau said there s some sort of pattern to the objects for the last couple days. is that something you can elaborate on that? i m not familiar with the prime minister s comments. i don t know that i should take a swing at that. i will tell you, going back to what i said before, these objects were not being maneuvered. they did not appear to have any self-propulsion. the likely hypothesis is they ....

Really significant payload for that chinese spy balloon that was downed off the coast of south carolina. so indications of a payload indicate that there s something onboard there. there could be propulsion that was giving it the capability to actually fly and keep the object in the air. obviously, we don t know what is in that payload, but the fact that they are now discovering that they did have a payload means a few things. first of all, the recovery efforts have begin because obviously we know that the flights that were going past these objects before they were downed really didn t gather many substantial details about what was on the objects or what they included other than the fact that they were unmanned. so that is a good thing that we re starting to begin to learn some details about what was onboard these objects. all right, kylie atwood, phil mattingly, stay close. sounds like we re going to get more coming in on this story as the afternoon unfolds. thank you both very much. ....

MSNBC Katy Tur Reports June 4, 2024 20:01:00

Katy tur, welcome to katy tur reports at 3:00 p.m. eastern. we know that three more objects were shot down over american and canadian airspace over the weekend. what we do know not know is what exactly all of those objects were, what they were doing, and who sent them. we also don t know if we re just seeing more of them because we re looking more closely. these are answerable questions and the white house just tried to fill in some of those blanks, speaking from the podium and the white house briefing room a moment ago, national security council spokesperson john kirby told reporters the intel community is assessing. as of now, it does not look like these additional objects were conducting surveillance. they weren t maneuverable. there was no propulsion, and they were not manned. as to who sent them, that is still unclear. but kirby did begin the briefing by calling out china. china has a high altitude ....

All three of these far smaller than the earlier chinese surveillance balloon. at this point, that s all we know as we wait for more answers on what this was. it is worth noting that john kirby says from what they know, they have not observed any maneuverability, any propulsion or surveillance technology so far. where did the recovery efforts stand overall for the debris? reporter: they have, and this is going back to the original chinese surveillance balloon, recovered quite a bit of that. defense secretary lloyd austin described it as a fair amount, and kirby said that some structure and electronics had been recovered. as for the recent three, they are still trying to get to those, locate them, in some cases, and bring that back in for analysis. oren, thank you. the top senate democrat says the u.s. intelligence agencies are getting new evidence every hour about the suspected chinese spy balloon, but the chinese government is now pushing back, they claim the united states illega ....
