Denorver Dee Garrett s eye is badly bruised Tuesday evening in Jeffersontown. Garrett was in the process of being arrested for protesting in a roadway on Sunday when officers felt he was resisting being handcuffed and threw him to the ground. One LMPD officer began to hit him in the face repeatedly with his arms restrained. April 20, 2021 ....

LOUISVILLE, Ky. Protester Denorver Dee Garrett is suing a Louisville Metro Police officer he says repeatedly punched him in the face while arresting him at Jefferson Square Park.
The lawsuit, filed Tuesday, accuses Officer Aaron Ambers of civil battery, unlawful imprisonment and intentionally inflicting emotional distress during the arrest on April 18.
LMPD is not named in the lawsuit, and the department has not identified the officer who punched Garrett.
Videos of the arrest have since been viewed thousands of times on social media and caused at least one Metro Council member to call for the involved officer to be fired. ....
