WEST FRANKFORT, Ill (WSIL) It was a pretty exciting day for any kid who s part of the Public Library s Summer Reading Program. The Black Diamond Aviation helicopter landed at the mall in West Frankfort Thursday morning.
The library worked to make the landing happen. Families got the chance to sit in the helicopter and see what it s like to be the pilot. The library says the summer reading program is just as much about getting kids to read-
as it is to get them to have fun.
It s pretty good for kids to sit down and read a book and not sit on their phone or be playing video games. They re pretty excited about being able to sit into a helicopter. Most kids don t get that opportunity. said Library Program Coordinator Michelle McCave. ....
