PTI decided to kickstart process of awarding tickets to candidates for Punjab elections following Supreme Court’s verdict in polls delay case.
Supreme Court of Pakistan (SC) is set to announce the verdict on the delay in Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa elections, today, Geo News reported.
ECP summoned meeting following Supreme Court’s (SC) verdict on Punjab elections, declaring its order unconstitutional.
A three-member bench, comprising Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Umar Ata Bandial, Justice Ijazul Ahsan and Justice Munib Akhtar, reserved the judgment today after hearing all the parties, including the government, the PTI, the ECP and others. However, it did not hear the counsel of the coalition parties, according to Dawn.
Azam Nazeer Tarar asked President Alvi to sign Supreme Court (Practice and Procedure) Bill 2023, which aims to curtail CJP's suo motu powers.
