well, beginning march 8th, any licensed hunter in the state of florida can apply for an additional permit to kill just pythons, so it s an additional fee and hunters can go ahead and shoot pythons. and i gather it s not very easy to find them, and that they re it particularly dangerous. they found pythons with the remains of alligators inside of them. there was a story a year ago about a 2 1/2-year-old child killed by a python. how big a challenge is this? well, the 2 1/2-year-old child, that was a domestic situation. that had nothing to do with the everglades. that was a pet snake. but in terms of going out in the everglades, the pythons, they re not out to get people. they re there. they re big. they re potentially dangerous but they don t go around attacking people. there s never been an attack from a python in a person in the everglades. and yet they re reproducing like crazy. one can lay between 40 and 60 ....
