Three critically injured in Morayfield Bruce Hwy crash

Paramedics have rushed six people to various hospitals after a nasty crash on the Bruce Highway at Morayfield.
One of the patients was a women who was being taken in a critical condition to Sunshine Coast University Hospital with chest and abdominal injuries.
Two others were being taken to the Royal Brisbane and Women s Hospital in critical conditions with head and chest injuries.
A man in his 50s was taken to Caboolture Hospital in a serious condition with chest injuries.
Two others were taken to Sunshine Coast University Hospital in stable conditions.
Queensland Ambulance Services senior operations supervisor Glen Morrison said 13 crews responded to the incident. ....

The Central Queensland sun is burning hotter than usual at this time of year, prompting emergency services to warn residents of the potential personal and collective risk throughout the several-day heatwave.
Bureau of Meteorology meteorologist Rosa Hoff said the Capricornia and Central Highlands regions were suffering severe heatwave conditions, with temperatures from six to nine degrees above average for this time of year.
âThe town of Rockhampton itself is likely to be 10 degrees above its average temperature for February today [Monday], but should cool down by a couple degrees tomorrow,â she said.
Rockhampton is forecast to reach 41 on Monday, 38 on Tuesday, and then stay in the low to mid 30s for the rest of the week. ....

Schoolboy taken to hospital after woodwork arm laceration

A Gladstone State High School student was taken to hospital on Tuesday afternoon after they suffered a laceration to their arm in a woodworking incident.
A Queensland Ambulance Service spokeswoman said paramedics were called to a location on the Dawson Highway at 1.21pm.
Paramedics transported a student to Gladstone Hospital in a stable condition suffering a laceration to the arm following a woodwork incident.
Initial reports indicated a 13-year-old student had cut their arm in a woodwork class.
“Paramedics transported one patient to Gladstone Hospital in a stable condition,” the Queensland Ambulance spokeswoman said.
On Tuesday afternoon, a Central Queensland Hospital and Health Service spokeswoman said the 13-year-old boy remained in hospital in a stable condition. ....
