Premier François Legault says he that he wants the teachers to think of the children who are being harmed by the strike, now into its second week.
As a deal remains off the table, hundreds of thousands of public sector workers are threatening to strike for a full week in December.
When asked about what mistakes he made, François Legault didn't elaborate but pointed to a number of different reasons for the growing dissatisfaction among voters.
He made the comments Thursday in Quebec City as unions representing 570,000 teachers, nurses, orderlies and other public sector workers are on strike across the province.
The workers are part of a 'common front' of four major unions that have planned a three-day strike until Thursday, which has closed schools and delayed surgeries.
