The Navy Wants Industry To Manage Its Autonomy Integration Efforts

WASHINGTON: The Navy wants to hire industry to manage the processes and infrastructure being developed at its autonomy integration lab presenting at least one contractor an opportunity to become an integral part of the service’s broadening unmanned portfolio.
The Rapid Autonomy Integration Lab (RAIL) is an effort out of the service’s unmanned maritime systems program office. The program will be the “cornerstone” for how the service develops and integrates autonomous capabilities in the future, Capt. Pete Small, Unmanned Maritime Systems program manager, told attendees at the Sea Air Space exposition on Monday. ....
